Privacy Policy
Last updated September 25, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Qer.ai (“Qer.ai”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use qer.ai and app.qer.ai (together, the “Service”), why we collect it, and the choices you have. We are based in Montréal, Québec, Canada, and we handle personal information in line with Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the rights described in section 8 also apply to you.
1. Who is responsible
Qer.ai is responsible for the personal information described here. Our person in charge of the protection of personal information can be reached at privacy@qer.ai.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address and a password (stored only as a salted hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile image from Google.
- Your workspace content: the brand names, websites, competitors, prompts, locations and settings you add to track.
- Free check: the website address you enter before creating an account.
- Messages: what you send us when you contact support.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed and actions taken in the app, recorded in server logs and used to run and secure the Service.
- Cookies: we use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and protect your account. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. If we add website analytics, we will update this policy first.
Information about payments
Payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers. We receive your plan, subscription status, billing country and the last four digits of your card.
AI answers we collect for you
To provide the Service we send your prompts to AI engines and search products and store the public answers, sources and rankings that come back. These answers are business information about brands and are not about you personally.
3. Why we use it
- To provide, operate and support the Service, including running your prompts on the schedule you choose and showing you the results.
- To create and secure your account, and to process payments and send receipts.
- To send service messages, such as email verification, password resets and billing notices.
- To improve and protect the Service, and to prevent abuse and fraud.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We ask for your consent where the law requires it, and you can withdraw it at any time.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us run the Service, such as hosting, email delivery, sign-in, AI and data-collection services that run your prompts and analyse the answers, and Stripe for payment processing. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
- Your team, if you invite colleagues to a workspace. Members of a workspace can see its content.
- Authorities or advisers, where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, or in a merger or sale of the business, in which case we will make sure this policy continues to protect your information.
5. Where your information is stored
We and our service providers may store and process information outside Québec, including in Canada and the United States. Before we transfer personal information outside Québec, we assess the risks and make sure it is protected to a standard equivalent to Québec law, typically through contracts with the provider.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and workspace content while your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except what we must keep to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords and restricted access. No system is perfectly secure. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your information, or stop using it, subject to legal limits;
- withdraw consent you have given;
- give you your information in a commonly used format, where the law provides for it.
To exercise a right, write to privacy@qer.ai. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the EEA or UK, you can also contact your local data protection authority.
9. Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. If the changes are significant, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
